Piera Van de Wiel

Piera Van de Wiel is a Producer, Impact Producer, Actor, and Singer-Songwriter, and Founder of Stronger With Music, which focuses on producing socially impactful stories through music and film. She is passionate about social impact and how the creative economy can bring change. Piera was named one of the Top 15 Artists using music and the arts to promote Human Rights alongside Bono, Sting, and Alicia Keys and has been featured on CBS and NBC networks. She has performed at the United Nations Headquarters and Lincoln Center. Her campaign “Used” partnered with the Canadian Women’s Foundation and the United Nations Spotlight Initiative to End Violence Against Women and Girls, and this campaign was written into the Domestic Abuse Bill at the House of Lords and endorsed by Dame Floella Benjamin. Moreover, through her “Come Back Home” project after Hurricane Dorian, she won the Listener Impact Award at the Global Music Awards for her song, and raised significant funds to build a primary school in the Abaco Islands, Bahamas. Her work creates action. Her filmmaking has driven her towards impactful work such as the #WithHer online series with the UN Spotlight Initiative, supporting domestic abuse survivors. Piera's narrative short film 'Strip Clara' won Best Short Film at London TV and Film Awards, Best UK Short Film at CKF International Film Festival, Best Score at Female Voices Rock Film Festival, and Piera received a nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Door International Film Festival. She starred in 'Fell Awake,' a festival-winning short film at the Onkyo Awards, and 4Theatre award winner. Piera's latest projects include the TV Pilot mental-health-focused psychological thriller ‘Mindscapes’ where she plays the lead, and the LGBTQ+ UK Refugee Drama “'Won’t Be Displaced; this film was announced at the Cannes Film Festival on the Diversity and Inclusion Panel with Stage 32 and is supported by LGBTQ+ NGOs Rainbow Railroad, Safe Place International, Rainbow Migration and Micro Rainbow.
